Job description

A Sr. Trial Attorney will manage their trial team and collaborate with the principal in managing multiple cases. This role will be proficient in working with a wide range of experts and be able to harness cutting-edge technology and litigation support in preparation of cases. The focus areas are Strategy, Mediations, Trials, Depositions, Expert Communication, Motions, Research and Mentoring.
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Duties

  • Case management.

  • Supervising associates and legal staff.

  • First and second chair for jury trials.

  • Attending hearings in state and federal court.

  • Taking and defending depositions.

  • Attending mediations.

  • Working with expert witnesses.

  • Drafting law and motion.

  • Drafting all trial-related pleadings, including jury instructions, motions in limine and trial briefs.

  • Working closely in a team environment.

  • Strategic case planning.

  • Managing paralegals and support staff.

  • Legal research.

  • Drafting and responding to discovery.

  • Managing document production.

  • Drafting and responding to meet and confer letters.

  • Communicating with opposing counsel and clients.

Requirements

  • First and second chair trial experience.

  • Substantial deposition experience.

  • Substantial mediation experience.

  • Excellent brief writing skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job description

A Senior Intake Specialist will handle incoming calls from potential new clients. They are responsible for managing the processes of new clients and evaluating incoming claims and potential clients both on the phone and in person. A Senior Intake Specialist works with lawyers to schedule meetings, collect paperwork, and may also work with marketing to support outbound lead generation initiatives.
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Duties

  • Answer inbound calls and emails from potential clients.

  • Briefly request details of the injury in a courteous manner.

  • Assess qualified leads and make a lasting impression on clients and potential clients.

  • Follow up with callers in a consistent and respectful manner.

  • Submit thorough notes of qualified leads and report large-scale injury leads to attorneys.

  • Send disengagement letters as needed.

  • Assign a pre-lit team on accepted cases and introduce the client to their assigned case manager.

  • Get all available information for newly signed clients and present to the team

  • Prepare case evaluations by taking potential client calls intake forms.

  • Recommendations on case viability.

  • Call hot leads immediately and follow-up with warm leads within 24 hours or sooner.

  • Conduct weekly meetings on lead status to CEO and management team

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong telecommunication skills.

  • Empathetic, caring, and persuasive communication skills.

  • Fluency in the use of computer systems including email programs, internet usage, customer relationship management systems, and proven ability to apply computer skills to new systems.

  • Self-starter with the ability to effectively manage multiple matters at once.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

MLG has an immediate opening for a Legal Research and Writer with 10 plus years’ experience in writing briefs. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to brief writing, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in legal research and writing.
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Duties

  • Conduct extensive legal research and analysis to support brief writing.

  • Draft and edit high-quality legal briefs, including appellate briefs, petitions, and other court filings.

  • Ensure that all legal briefs adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.

  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff to ensure that legal briefs are accurate, comprehensive, and effective.

  • Review and analyze legal documents and evidence and prepare written memoranda summarizing findings.

  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize deadlines effectively.

  • Provide guidance and training to junior team members to ensure that all legal briefs are of high quality.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience working at the court of appeals drafting published opinions.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools, such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.

A Trial Attorney assists the Sr. Attorney in managing multiple cases. This role will help prepare litigation reports and risk assessments, draft legal documents, and make court appearances on our clients' behalf.
